Long and Overdue Update

Hi everyone,

I am proud to say that I am alive and giving and update on what has happened over this past season and what is new for now and this year. I had a bit of a struggle this season on tour but was also very close to doing well. I had a 5th place finish in the Colorado Open which was my best finish all season. I also was able to go play in different areas around the world which was neat! The best place I played in was near Vancouver, Canada. It was gorgeous up there and very much a treat! I would play golf during the day in long pants and a short sleeve shirt and then drive to Whistler mountain and get to play in the snow in the afternoon wearing hats, scarves, and big coats. I have never been to a place that had such a climate change so close together.

Throughout the season I stayed with great host families as well. I was able to see similar faces and also made a few new connections and memories with new host families. Everyone was great and made my weeks out on tour feel very warm and welcoming. Thank you to everyone who opened their homes up to me and made me feel like family!

This season I also made a change in swing coaches towards the end. For all of you that has known me since I was teeny tiny you know that Dad has been my coach. Throughout the years we have battled with going back and forth with this but its official...for now haha.... that my dad will be back in the picture as my coach. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go down this road as teacher/student. I have all the faith in the world that he will do great with my golf game. Let's face it... he is my biggest fan!

My family is also doing well. They were able to come watch a few events and cheer me on this year which was great. My dog, Hogan, unfortunately had to stay home but I know he was cheering the entire time!

Recently I played in my first LPGA Qualifying school tournament. I played ok for the week but not good enough and missed by a few shots to get me into the final stage. But on a good note... I made a hole in one during competition. I hit a 7 iron with a little baby draw and flew it into the hole! I was the only player for the entire week to make one! not many people can say they made a hole in one during LPGA Q school. It was a blessing and great moment that I will never forget.

As for now and my future plans, I will continue to play on the LPGA Futures Tour along with a few Canadian Events and state opens as well. I also plan on playing in Monday Qualifiers for the LPGA and hope to sneak into a few of those for next year. During the meantime I will be preparing with dad all the things that needs to be worked on and sharpened until March. On the side, I will be using my performance studies/communication degree from Carolina by playing in a few movies and TV shows as an extra. I have really enjoyed that so far this off season! Maybe you all will see my on the big screen one day!

Ok, well, that is a short synopsis of what has been going on in the life of Lauren Hunt this year and what is yet to come. I will post and keep ya'll up to date during the off season just so we can stay in touch. Thanks for all the support and prayers this year, it meant a lot and is always much needed. May God bless you all.

The Season has Started!

Hey Everyone,

Well, the 2011 season has finally begun! My good friend Laura Crawford picked me up last weekend and we started our journey down to Florida. It was a good drive and as I was impressed, Laura was very impressed I was able to stay awake the whole 8 hours and I didn't even watch a DVD!

I was an alternate for the first event in Winter Haven and after a long 5 days waiting, unfortunately for a good friend, Mallory Blackwelder's grandfather passed away and allowed me to take her spot within the field. For all my fans and supporters, please keep the Blackwelder's in your thoughts and prayers during this time. I recently have also witnessed losing 2 grandparents this off season and it is not fun but I know they are in a much better place in Heaven with the big man above. I love you Meme and Papa.

I played ok for my first event, however, I missed the cut by 2 shots. I had a bit of a rough day the first round due to nerves. The 2nd day was much better except my putter failed me. Please do not worry, I plan on working on receiving the proper equipment so that I can make more putts! I took only positives away from my first event and feel as if I have nothing to be ashamed of. I played well, just not well enough but look forward to my next event.

I stayed with the housing parents I usually stay with in Winter Haven, the Threadgills. They are an amazing couple and I am so thankful to have stayed there for the week and been treated like a queen.

I am off to Daytona today and will be driving through Orlando to catch the last round of Bay Hill thanks to my sponsor, The Dow Group! I am excited to see William McGirt play today and support him as a team member. I will also be trying out for the BigBreak this week as well! Wish me luck! Please continue to follow me and thanks for all your support! May God bless!

2011 LPGA Futures Tour School

Hi all,

Sad to say I am back a day early from Q school this year. I unfortunately had a poor tournament and did not improve my status. I will be keeping my status of E which means I will get into primarily all of the Futures events except the first few ones. It was a tough week on the course but I was able to take a few good moments from the overall week. Someone has recently told me that this is a process and I need to focus on the big picture. At the end of the day, golf is just a game and does not define who I am, it only builds character and allows doors to become open. I will continue to strive hard each day to better my golf game and still look forward to competing this coming year in 2011.

My dad and I started our journey last Saturday. We got to stop by and see my grandparents in Pamplico, SC, which was a good treat before the 10 hr drive. We also stopped in Charleston and had a meeting with a group of people who are promsing for my future and great connections to have. I hope to have formed a relationship with them that wil benefit both their company and myself. Thanks for your time, you know who you are.

Continuing the trip, Dad and I also found a new place to eat! We stopped at exit 87 off of Interstate 95 at this place called the Smokin Pig. It was a little BBQ place that had amazing food and great service. They are famous for their BBQ of course but the treat was their banana pudding, known as "Naner Puddin." It might have been the best banana pudding I've ever had.

Once we got to Lakeland area, I played practice rounds with one of my closest friends. It was great to see her and I am so glad we got to hang out for a few days and catch up since we have not seen each other since season! Love you Linds! As for me and dad, we had our problems with his snoring. For those who know my dad, y'all know he loves me to death. He loves me so much he slept on the bathroom floor with the door shut so that it would lessen the chance of hearing him snore. How sweet?!! We decided a hotel room was not going to work so had to move to a condo near Champions Gate. Needless to say, it was a great move because it very nice with a great price and I didn't have to hear him snore for the rest of the week! We had a blast and I couldn't have made it through this week without my dad. Love you Dad and thanks for you help this week with everything.

Each day on the course was very long and slow but I stayed patient and did the very best I could. My plans for the rest of the season include working with my swing coach, continuing changes, working with a physical trainer to get stronger, and working. Please keep up with the support and watch for more post! May God Bless

What next?

Well, the season is over and the off season begins now. Unfortunately I did not have the rookie year I would have liked but it was a great learning experience for me. I met so many people out on tour and i was able to travel to many new places. I was able to stay with host families that were very nice and I will never forget them. I look forward to maintaining my relationships with them in the future.

As of now, I will be looking for a job part time to save enough money for the tour next year. It is a hard process as you all may know, but with God's grace things will work out like they are suppose to. Hopefully I will find something in the business world that will allow me to make and save money along with working on my game for next season. I have some changes I need to make within my game and look forward to putting in the time so I will be able to compete on a higher level for 2011 season. I also plan on renovating my website and making some fun changes with that as well. So make sure you stay updated with my website in order to see some changes and new things coming this year.

I have big hopes for the upcoming season and I hope my fans will continue to support me along the way. With your thoughts, prayers, and hopes I will make it! Thanks so much for all your wishes and care. May god Bless.

My trip up North

Hi all!

Well unfortunately I will not be playing in the US Women's Open this year. I went to New Jersey this week and tried to qualify and did not make it. My putter failed me and it is paying its dues today by sitting outside of the golf bag so it can think about how bad it let me down... haha.

I can only take the positives from this qualifier and try and improve on things and work hard for the next event!

I was able to go to the city on Monday for the first time ever! It was really neat except for the hustle and bustle of everything. It was definitely different from South Carolina haha. I did have fun and want to say thank you to the Byrd family for housing me and taking care of me.

My next adventure is heading to Iowa! I leave Saturday and will be driving with a good friend of mine. Im sure there will be lots of singing and maybe a little bit of napping in the car as well. Wish us luck and i'll be in touch soon!

God Bless

San Antonio and my Birthday!

Hey Everyone,
Last week was amazing in San Antonio TX! I rode from Brownsville to San Antonio with Stephanie Connelly and we had a major music session along with getting checked by border patrol! It was a good 4 hours in the car but once we got to San Antonio things got much better.

We stayed with the Santos and they could not have been a better family in San Antonio that we could have stayed with. I would like to thank them for the whole week including great meals, great wine, great stories, and a great bed!! They came out to watch me play and i wouldn't let them leave the whole day because i played so well. Im not superstitious am i? haha Thanks so much for your support and hospitality last week.

It was a good week for the golf game. I played solid and hit the ball well. I struggled on Saturday but i fought through it and managed to bounce back. I left some putts out there but i hope i am fixing it this week. My good friend Laura Crawford caddied for me on Sunday and we had a blast. However, she allowed me to 3 putt on 16, i forgave her and we made it through. Thanks Crawford for helping me relax and being a great caddy last week. For next week, however, lets just both be in the final group competing for the title! I was one over for 3 rounds and finished tied 21st. I loved the golf course and the atmosphere. I was very comfortable and enjoyed the overall experience last week. Thanks to all that made that a fun week!

I also had a birthday on Tuesday. I turned the big 23! I'm staying in Oklahoma for the week with Crawford and Micheala Cavener. Micheala's family is amazing and has been so nice. It's nice to stay with a family during the off week that i can feel comfortable around and that in which i feel similar to my home as well. They threw me a great birthday party and even made me a birthday dessert which was fantastic! Thank you Cavener family for having me this week!

Ok, i think that's all for now! I'll be posting after Kansas next week!

May God Bless.

My Journey so far.....

Hi everyone!

Wow, its been awhile since I posted but things have been busy out on the road. I have really been having a lot of fun out here. I missed my first 3 cuts but played decent. I have nothing to be ashamed of because I am working hard and still have the support from all my fans!

Last week I finally made my first cut and first paycheck! I feel good about my game and look forward to this week in San Antonio! The courses have been nice and the support at the events have been amazing. This life is fun thus far and makes me excited week to week to travel to different sites.

So far my housing has been fantastic! I really have enjoyed all the families that I have met and feel very blessed and fortunate to have stayed in the homes that I stayed in. I want to say thank you to the Romano's, Kessler's, and this week the Santos family for letting me stay in their homes and making me feel so welcome. Everyone has been awesome and I cannot thank them enough for the hospitality they have shown me.

I'll be keeping in touch, thanks to all for the thoughts and prayers!

May God Bless.....
