Hi everyone,
I am proud to say that I am alive and giving and update on what has happened over this past season and what is new for now and this year. I had a bit of a struggle this season on tour but was also very close to doing well. I had a 5th place finish in the Colorado Open which was my best finish all season. I also was able to go play in different areas around the world which was neat! The best place I played in was near Vancouver, Canada. It was gorgeous up there and very much a treat! I would play golf during the day in long pants and a short sleeve shirt and then drive to Whistler mountain and get to play in the snow in the afternoon wearing hats, scarves, and big coats. I have never been to a place that had such a climate change so close together.
Throughout the season I stayed with great host families as well. I was able to see similar faces and also made a few new connections and memories with new host families. Everyone was great and made my weeks out on tour feel very warm and welcoming. Thank you to everyone who opened their homes up to me and made me feel like family!
This season I also made a change in swing coaches towards the end. For all of you that has known me since I was teeny tiny you know that Dad has been my coach. Throughout the years we have battled with going back and forth with this but its official...for now haha.... that my dad will be back in the picture as my coach. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we go down this road as teacher/student. I have all the faith in the world that he will do great with my golf game. Let's face it... he is my biggest fan!
My family is also doing well. They were able to come watch a few events and cheer me on this year which was great. My dog, Hogan, unfortunately had to stay home but I know he was cheering the entire time!
Recently I played in my first LPGA Qualifying school tournament. I played ok for the week but not good enough and missed by a few shots to get me into the final stage. But on a good note... I made a hole in one during competition. I hit a 7 iron with a little baby draw and flew it into the hole! I was the only player for the entire week to make one! not many people can say they made a hole in one during LPGA Q school. It was a blessing and great moment that I will never forget.
As for now and my future plans, I will continue to play on the LPGA Futures Tour along with a few Canadian Events and state opens as well. I also plan on playing in Monday Qualifiers for the LPGA and hope to sneak into a few of those for next year. During the meantime I will be preparing with dad all the things that needs to be worked on and sharpened until March. On the side, I will be using my performance studies/communication degree from Carolina by playing in a few movies and TV shows as an extra. I have really enjoyed that so far this off season! Maybe you all will see my on the big screen one day!
Ok, well, that is a short synopsis of what has been going on in the life of Lauren Hunt this year and what is yet to come. I will post and keep ya'll up to date during the off season just so we can stay in touch. Thanks for all the support and prayers this year, it meant a lot and is always much needed. May God bless you all.
Lauren
