Thanksgiving in South Carolina

I can't believe Thanksgiving has come and gone. I went to Pamplico, South Carolina to be with family and have our once a year "pig pickin." For those who do not know what this is let me explain. A "pig pickin" is when we cook the pig over coals throughout the night and around 12:00 the next day friends and family come to my grandparents house and pull the pork from the pigs back and have a nice big lunch! I look forward to Thanksgiving every year because it is one of my favorite Holidays. I hope all of you had a Happy Thanksgiving as well and good luck with Christmas right around the corner!

Behind the Scenes for Q-School

Qualifying week is finally over and I made it through alive! I had been waiting for last week for over a year and I am proud to say that I qualified for the 2010 Duramed Futures Tour. This past week was a great experience for me. I was able to meet new people and learn how to adapt to a taste of tour life. I stayed with a nice host family, the Threadgills, for the week in which I much appreciated and enjoyed as well. They cooked for me every night and made sure I was comfortable throughout the week. It was an emotional roller coaster as each day passed by. I struggled with my first round but managed to bounce back with even par the next three days which allowed me to make the cut. However, unfortunately I did not finish off the tournament as I would have liked. My final round was also a struggle due to tough playing conditions and mistakes made from myself. I, of course, beat myself up over how I finished but have realized that I am very blessed to have been out there playing and competing in a game I love. I am proud of my performance this week and I want to thank everyone who supported me with their thoughts and prayers because they helped. I look forward to the upcoming season and envision myself at the top of the leader board.

Getting Ready for Q-School

The week has finally come! I have been waiting for qualifying school for a whole year. Everything is going well and my game feels really good. I leave Friday the 29th of October to start my trip. I have to say the only nerves I have as of right now is due to picking up a rental car for the first time. I promise once I step on the first tee I will have forgotten about the rental car nerves and have the golf nerves instead. I look forward to playing this week and I thank everyone for all of your thoughts and prayers as I undergo a big step towards playing on tour. Thanks again and keep up with me throughout the week.
